THE GULF WAR: The Home Front : Poll: Ground War Approval
An overwhelming majority--81%--of Americans approve of President Bush’s decision to begin the ground war against Iraq WITHOUT WAITING ANY LONGER for possible diplomatic solutions. The U.S. public also feels that allied military action should not stop with the liberation of Kuwait but should continue until Saddam Hussein is out of power or Iraqi war-making capability is destroyed. These results are from a special Gallup Poll conducted with 783 Americans on Sunday afternoon.
