Pru-Bache Changes Name: Prudential-Bache Securities shortened its name to Prudential Securities. The move follows the resignation last week of the Wall Street brokerage’s longtime chairman, George L. Ball. The firm’s parent company, Prudential Insurance Co. of America, said the name change is meant to emphasize its continuing commitment to the brokerage and to quell speculation that the unit is for sale. Pru-Bache had said it expected to show a loss of about $250 million for 1990.
