Two gunmen and a 12-year-old boy robbed a La Mesa store early Monday and were captured after a high-speed chase, police said.
The mini-market and gas station in the 9600 block of Murray Drive was robbed shortly after 1 a.m. The two gunmen fired three shots into the ceiling of the store as they and the boy fled, La Mesa police said.
La Mesa police and California Highway Patrol officers spotted the fleeing car and gave chase. The chase ended when the fleeing car crashed near the 32nd Street Navy Station in San Diego.
Taken into custody were Marcus Bryant Harris, 21, Donald Smith, 22, and the boy. Harris and Smith were being held in the County Jail on suspicion of robbery, auto theft and assault with a deadly weapon.
The youth was being held at Juvenile Hall on suspicion of the same charges. No one was injured in the car crash, police said.
