Author Isn’t Answer to Catholics’ Prayers
Regarding Uta Ranke-Heinemann vs. the Catholic Church, I cannot but agree with some of what she says about the church’s anti-feminism and imposed priestly celibacy.
However, as she presents herself as an intelligent, well-read woman of her times, I cannot understand her condemnation of the Persian Gulf war as “total madness.†Would she prefer to let Saddam Hussein and his like reach our shores before we act to stop him?
