Snakes

In response to your Metro Digest story about the irascible python that found a home after five years in a shelter (Jan. 26):
This makes me think of the two beautiful emerald tree boas and the green Cuban anole lizard in our Santa Barbara zoo. I like to tell people to look at them in the snake house but from what I have learned, more than 10% of people don’t like to even look at a snake or lizard!
Talking about all this one day to a young couple, the girl commented, “You know what? We have a boa constrictor in our house so my mother-in-law won’t even come to visit us!” They then both broke out in laughter!
