Hart High’s Carol Gruhlke has committed to play basketball at Point Loma. Gruhlke, a 6-foot forward, chose Point Loma over Fresno Pacific after visiting the San Diego-area campus.

Gruhlke said her parents also attended Point Loma, which influenced her decision, as did the fact that the school is losing three front-line players from this season’s team. “So there is an opportunity for me to play next year,†she said.

Gruhlke, a two-year starter at Hart, leads the team in rebounding (9.3 a game) and averages 12.6 points a game.
