West Los Angeles : Freeway Closure Planned
- Share via
All eastbound lanes of the Santa Monica Freeway near the San Diego Freeway will be closed from 1 to 5 a.m. Friday while an overhead sign is installed.
All eastbound traffic will be required to exit at Centinela Avenue, and the eastbound on-ramps at Centinela and at Bundy Drive will be closed.
Detour signs will direct motorists around the closure. Traffic will be permitted to re-enter the freeway at Overland Avenue. Eastbound traffic entering the Santa Monica Freeway from the San Diego Freeway will not be affected.
The new overhead sign will help motorists choose the proper lane as they approach the San Diego Freeway interchange. The $125,000 contract to install the sign was awarded to Hauschild Construction Inc. of El Toro.
