An Acquisition: Helionetics Inc. in Irvine acquired a San Diego medical laser firm, Acculase, for an undisclosed amount of Helionetics stock.
Acculase is testing a laser that could be applied for medical uses such as clearing a patient’s arteries. Acculase’s top officer is Jeffrey Lavetter, a former Helionetics executive. The laser has yet to receive government approval for that use.
