Short Takes : No Tartikoff Charges to Be Filed

RENO — No charges will be filed against either driver involved in a New Year’s Day accident that seriously injured NBC Television executive Brandon Tartikoff and his 8-year-old daughter, a district attorney said.
“The Nevada Highway Patrol has not requested criminal charges against either subject, and we concur that criminal charges are inappropriate,” Dan Greco, Douglas County deputy district attorney, said Monday.
Tartikoff, 41, president of NBC Entertainment Group, suffered a broken pelvis and ribs in the accident on U.S. 50 near his Lake Tahoe vacation home. His daughter, Calla, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition recovering from head injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, Stephen Manos, 18, of Westlake Village, was heading west and Tartikoff drove his vehicle out onto the highway after stopping, the patrol said.
Manos was not injured.
