ANAHEIM : Shooting Victim Identified by Police
Police on Sunday identified the victim of a fatal shooting at an Anaheim motel as 21-year-old Mario Nunez Morales.
Morales, of Anaheim, apparently was shot to death in Room 121 of the Lincoln Palms Motel about 7:50 p.m. Saturday.
“Witnesses at the scene reported hearing what sounded like gunshots coming from the victim’s room,†Police Sgt. Tom Mathison said. Police were called to the scene and “found the victim, sitting in a chair, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.â€
Paramedics summoned to treat the victim pronounced him dead, he added.
Two men were seen walking quickly from the room seconds after the shooting, and they then left the area in a white pickup truck.
“As of this time, there is no known motive for this incident and the identity of the suspects is not known,†Mathison said.
Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.
