Medical Firm Sues Competitor: Pressure Products Inc., which makes an elastic pressure device used to stop bleeding, filed a patent infringement suit against Precision Laser Products, contending that the firm is selling a copycat product called STOP. In the federal lawsuit, Pressure Products asserts that the defendant is selling STOP under the name Ace Medical Inc. and that the product is an inferior knockoff on the plaintiff’s device, called HOLD. Pressure Products contends that its sales of HOLD have been adversely affected. The suit seeks an injunction and at least $50,000 in damages. (Case No. 91-0379. Jan. 22).
