In another Empire League game:

Cypress 2, Loara 0--Forward Shan Charfarous and fullback Matt Hippler scored goals and goalie Ray Arvizu posted his seventh shutout of the season with five saves to lead host Cypress (7-6-3, 2-1-2).

In the Angelus League:

St. John Bosco 1, Mater Dei 0--Forward Reynoldo Garciaparra scored at the 60-minute mark and goalie Gary Manley had 12 saves as the Braves upset Mater Dei (13-4-1, 2-1-1).

In the Century League:

El Modena 1, Canyon 0--Forward Jason Martinez scored 10 minutes into the second half for El Modena (8-0-2, 3-0-1). Goalie Freddie Romo had 11 saves in recording his fifth shutout of the season.

Orange 0, Foothill 0--Jason Vlcek had six saves for Foothill (7-4-4, 1-0-3) and Juan Ramirez had three saves and Eric Jaime had four saves for host Orange (10-2-4, 3-0-1).

In the Freeway League:

Buena Park 1, Fullerton 0--Buena Park got its first league victory in five years. Eric Wheeler scored in the 63rd minute on a penalty shot after Gustavo Bonell was fouled in the box for host Buena Park (4-9, 1-3). Sarven Dedeoglu had nine saves for Buena Park for his fourth shutout in four victories for Buena Park.

Sunny Hills 2, Sonora 1--Greg Schank and Jason Fichtelberg scored goals for host Sunny Hills (10-3, 4-0). Schank scored 10 minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie and Fichtelberg scored 10 minutes later.

Marcos Pando scored with 15 minutes left for Sonora. Goalie Ryan McCormick made six saves for Sunny Hills.

In the Orange League:

Anaheim 4, Savanna 0--Jaime Garcia scored twice and Armando Solis and Michael Tsarnas each scored for host Anaheim.

Brea-Olinda 2, Valencia 1--Sergio Ponce scored in the 68th minute for Brea-Olinda to break the tie. Martin Wall scored in the seventh minute for Brea-Olinda (6-6-3, 4-0). Uli Perez scored in the 17th minute for Valencia (7-7-3, 2-1-1).

Western 1, Magnolia 1--Mickey Conahan scored for Western and Enrique Rios scored for host Magnolia (2-7-2, 0-2-2). Magnolia’s Nart Paret had two saves, including one on a penalty kick in the second half.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 1, Costa Mesa 1--Giuseppe Lombardo scored for visiting Laguna Hills (5-3, 2-0-2) and Oscar Markert scored for Costa Mesa (8-3-3, 2-1-1).

Trabuco Hills 0, Estancia 0--Dan Abdalla had 10 saves for Trabuco Hills (5-7-4, 1-2-1) and Carlos Rodriguez had 11 saves for host Estancia (5-7-4, 1-0-3).

Laguna Beach 2, Century 1--Grant Meyers had 15 saves for Laguna Beach (2-9, 1-3), which had its entire starting lineup out with injuries. Sergio Gil and Damien Carter scored for Laguna Beach. Adolpho Aguilar scored for Century.

In the Sea View League:

Woodbridge 1, Saddleback 1--John Szczuka scored for Woodbridge and Jose Escudero scored for Saddleback. It was Escudero’s 15th goal this season for Saddleback (11-1-4, 2-0-2).

Corona del Mar 4, University 0--Jason Boyce scored an unassisted goal and had an assist for Corona del Mar. Ola Karoliussen scored on an assist from Todd Smith, Scott Owen scored an assist from Boyce and Adam Condon scored on an assist by Justin Pierce for Corona del Mar.

Tustin 3, Newport Harbor 3--Chris Hunter, Jim Hicks and Brian Mallin scored for host Newport Harbor (11-4-4, 1-2).

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 1, Mission Viejo 0--Goalie Chad Andrew recorded his fourth straight shutout by recording eight saves, and forward Ryan Damato scored the game’s only goal with five minutes remaining in the first half.

San Clemente 1, Dana Hills 0--Left winger Scott Brooks scored with eight minutes remaining to play and goalie Miguel Sixtos had four saves in gaining a shutout for San Clemente (3-8-3, 2-2).

In field hockey:

Santiago 12, University 0--Theresa Puskas and LeAnne Stoneking each scored four goals to lead visiting Santiago (18-0, 5-0) in a Garden Grove League match.
