Littlefield to Head State Arts Council

Beer distributor Bryan (Whitey) Littlefield of Seal Beach was unanimously elected chairman of the California Arts Council. The election took place at the council’s regular quarterly meeting Friday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The 58-year-old Democrat, once a Golden Gloves boxer, was named to the council in 1985 by then-Gov. George Deukmejian. He is general manager of Somerset Distributors Inc. in Carson.
