Culver City : Guidelines for Corridor
The Redevelopment Agency has hired an urban planning firm to come up with architectural and aesthetic guidelines for storefronts and streets in the East Washington Boulevard Corridor, between National Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
Urban Design Studio will develop guidelines for facades and create designs for intersections including Washington Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, the eastern gateway to the city. The guidelines will include colors, awnings, signs, graphics, doors and windows for businesses in the area.
The Redevelopment Agency will implement the guidelines along a four-block stretch that will serve as the prototype for the entire corridor. The four blocks will be selected by the agency staff and Urban Design Studio.
The contract with the Newport Beach-based design firm, approved by the agency Monday, is for $36,200.
