5 Foreign Carriers Suspend Some Mideast Flights

Five airlines Tuesday announced cutbacks in flights to the Mideast, citing higher insurance premiums caused by the Persian Gulf crisis.
Philippine Airlines is suspending flights to the Middle East starting today.
The Spanish national carrier Iberia plans to suspend flights to Egypt and Israel starting Jan. 16.
Singapore Airlines will stop flying to Cairo on Jan. 14.
The Italian state airline Alitalia plans to suspend flights to Israel this week.
Swissair, Switzerland’s shareholder-owned flag carrier, said it is suspending flights to Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Tel Aviv.
