SANTA SUSANA : Youth on Balcony Struck by Bullet

A 17-year-old boy who was repairing an antenna from the second-floor balcony of his parents’ Santa Susana house was hit once by a bullet in the shoulder, authorities said Monday.
Joseph Snyder was treated at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Joseph was on the balcony of the house on Birch Street when he was hit about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Detective Ernest Montagna said authorities have no motive and no suspects in the shooting, and they are unsure where the shot originated. The house is in a somewhat remote area south of Simi Valley.
Montagna said the shooting was not gang-related. It is possible, he said, that Joseph was hit by an errant bullet from someone target practicing.
