Loyola Tops Fordham, Improves to 6-5

The Loyola Marymount women won their second game at home in two nights Saturday, defeating Fordham, 86-71, to improve to 6-5.
Lynn Flanagan scored 29 points to lead the Lions, who were up, 45-33, at the half and withstood a second-half rally by Fordham.
The Rams got as close as 50-46 before the Lions got back in sync, eventually building a lead that reached 74-54. Fordham fell to 3-8.
The Lions made 31 of 42 shots from the free-throw line, with Flanagan converting 13 of 17. Fordham had only 17 free-throw attempts.
Forward Joelle Longobardi had 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for the Lions and point guard Christy Fortney added 15 points and six assists.
The Lions play host to Colorado State at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
