Those Redgrave Girls

In the Dec. 16 Calendar, you have contributed several pages to honor Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave. As an American, I deeply resent Rick Du Brow’s carrying the older sister’s red hem.
Apparently, it has been forgotten (or, worse, overlooked) by Du Brow that this woman has been (and undoubtedly still is) violently anti-anti-American. Not all of us have forgotten her Palestinian dance over a burning American flag!
It is the nature of Americans to forgive and forget . . . probably Du Brow’s nature. He makes it plain that bringing this America-hater back into American films delights and excites him! Only in this country can this woman be paid so much money. It is not at all unlikely that she will contribute much of it to the cause of Saddam Hussein!
Du Brow bows down and prints that this woman is “the finest actress in the English-speaking world.” That is his opinion, and easily argued, but as an American I don’t give a bloody damn about her ability, whatever it is . . . and I hope other Americans will remember this American enemy’s history before they bow down and kiss her ring, a la Du Brow!
