Flamemaster Corp. Nearly Triples Year-End Earnings

Flamemaster Corp., a Sun Valley maker of heat- and flame-resistant coatings and sealants, said its earnings nearly tripled in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, from $289,000 to a record $865,000.
The company also reported record revenues, up 37% from $3.8 million last year to $5.3 million in the year that ended Sept. 30.
Flamemaster President Joseph Mazin attributed the increases in part to a 33% jump in sales of its flame-retardant coatings. Other factors were a surge in new commercial aircraft orders--leading to increased sales of Flamemaster sealants--and more maintenance and repair orders, Mazin said.
