Premier Resigns in Reconciliation Bid

BEIRUT — Prime Minister Salim Hoss, a veteran of the country’s turbulent politics, resigned to make way for a broad-based reconciliation Cabinet aimed at boosting efforts to end 15 years of civil war. Hoss, a Sunni Muslim, submitted the resignation of his 14-man government to President Elias Hrawi, a presidential statement said.
