Northridge Women Win, 68-62

Sophomore guard Joan Weinerth scored the game’s final six points, including two on a key baseline jump shot with 1 1/2 minutes left, to give Cal State Northridge a 68-62 victory over visiting Pepperdine in a women’s nonconference basketball game Tuesday.
It was the first victory in Division I competition for the Matadors (1-2), who were playing their home opener.
Bridgette Ealy had a game-high 16 points and seven steals and Sandy Olson had 14 points. Weinerth and Julie Arlotto each had 12 points.
