ROUNDUP : Canyons Rolls in Overtime, 84-70

Keira Irwin scored 24 points and had six assists to lead the College of the Canyons women’s basketball team to an 84-70 overtime victory over Mt. San Antonio in the semifinals of the Golden West tournament.
Canyons (2-0) led by 13 points with 10 minutes left, but Mt. SAC went on an 18-5 run to forge a 69-69 tie at the end of regulation.
The Cougars made six of seven free throws in overtime to help nail down the win.
In other women’s games:
Valley 93, Citrus 66--Stacie Toon scored a team-high 21 points and teammate Erika Miller added 14 for host Valley (2-0).
The Monarchs, who reached the semifinals of last year’s state tournament, led at halftime, 53-28.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Moorpark 99, Alameda (Oakland) 88--Damian Wilson scored 24 points to lead the Raiders to a second-round consolation win in the Foothill College tournament in Los Altos Hills.
El Camino 70, Oxnard 58--Keishaun Darthard and Mike Houck combined for eight three-point baskets to lead El Camino in a semifinal game of the Compton tournament.
Oxnard (3-1) was led by Don Mitchell (15 points), Shawn Talley (14) and Art Santana (11).
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Palisades and Taft advanced to the City Section 4-A Division tennis final after defeating Grant and Birmingham at the Racquet Centre.
Taft’s Jennifer Nussbaum defeated Kim Watzman of Birmingham, 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 6-1, in one of only two three-set matches between the teams.
