Pierce College football Coach Bob Enger announced his resignation Friday, saying the Brahmas’ season-ending game against Bakersfield was his last at the Woodland Hills school.
Enger, 55, who said he resigned to pursue other coaching possibilities, perhaps abroad, has recommended assistant coach Bill Norton as his replacement.
Enger has coached Pierce for three seasons, helping to resurrect a program that had been disbanded in 1985 because of faculty layoffs. He compiled a 9-21 record, including a 4-6 mark this season. He said he had enjoyed the job and predicted success for the Brahmas.
“People have been real supportive and I had a great time and a lot of fun,” he said.
Enger previously coached at Bell and Cantwell highs and at East L.A. College, where he led the Huskies to the 1968 state junior college championship game.
