Creditors Want Eastern Liquidated: Creditors said ailing Eastern Airlines should be liquidated because it cannot become economically viable. The contention came in a U. S. Bankruptcy Court filing in New York opposing the Miami-based carrier’s request to withdraw $30 million from an escrow account to operate through mid-December. Eastern rejected the creditors’ contention.
