Pedestrian, 82, Killed

An elderly Chula Vista man died after being hit by a car Monday while crossing a street in Chula Vista, police said.
John Garza, 82, was crossing 4th Avenue at Park Way about 10:20 a.m. when he was hit by a car driven by Edward Hurley, 76, also of Chula Vista, officers said.
Taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, Garza died at 2:05 p.m., officers said.
Hurley was not hurt, police said, adding that it had not been determined whether he would face criminal charges in the death.
