CHICAGO — Allijeba closed fast to win the $143,450 Robert F. Carey Memorial Handicap by five lengths Saturday at Hawthorne Race Course.
Wave Wise, a 30-1 shot in the one-mile turf race, edged even-money favorite Expensive Decision for second in the field of nine.
The winner, ridden by Kerwin Clark, paid $21, $10.40 and $4.60.
