Sheepish Prisoners Caught in Car Chase

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Police chased down a fleeing car and took 10 prisoners--sheep found crammed in the trunk and behind a seat after the rustler ran away.
The chase began Wednesday night when narcotics officers in Vanderbijlpark, outside Johannesburg, ordered a car to stop, the South African Broadcasting Corp. said Thursday. After a 25-mile chase, the car ran into a ditch and the driver fled.
Officers searched the car and found five live sheep crowded into the trunk. Another five were behind the back seat. The sheep were taken to the city police station and kept overnight in jail cells until their owners were found. The sheep rustler was still on the loose.
