Mission Viejo Gains Top Spot

Mission Viejo High School has replaced El Toro as the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll by virtue of its 21-9 victory over El Toro Friday in South Coast League play.
Mission Viejo received six first-place votes and 77 points. Second-ranked Tustin received two first-place votes and 72 points.
There are only four undefeated teams in the county--Tustin, Esperanza, La Quinta and Santa Margarita--going into the final week of the regular season.
