The school board tonight is expected to award a contract to a Los Angeles-based recruiting firm that will help it hire a new superintendent.
If the board approves the contract, Ira Krinsky & Associates will be paid $25,000 plus up to $5,000 for expenses to find a person to replace Supt. Jerry Thornsley, who is retiring June 30 after 16 years with the district.
Ira Krinsky, the firm’s president, will outline to the board various ways his firm can conduct the search and will ask the board members to begin considering what qualifications the new superintendent should have, district spokeswoman Jackie Cerra said.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at district headquarters, 32972 Calle Perfecto.
