Copley Newspaper Layoffs: Blaming declining revenue, the company that publishes the Outlook, Daily Breeze and News-Pilot newspapers laid off 2% of the papers’ 800 workers in the Los Angeles area. No further layoffs are planned, said a spokeswoman for Copley Los Angeles Newspapers, a division of La Jolla-based Copley Press. She said the company had tried to avert layoffs by not filling jobs that became vacant and by taking other cost-cutting moves.
