UPI’s Non-Union Staff Faces Big Pay Cuts: United Press International will cut salaries of its non-union employees 35% for 90 days as part of an economy move designed to bring about a sale of the 83-year-old news service. UPI also said its board has changed company policy so that non-union employees can be dismissed without notice or severance pay.
