Mag Instrument Inc. Sues Over Flashlights: The Ontario-based firm sued Marketing Innovations International in Calabasas for violating patents on six flashlights on which Mag claims to hold rights. The federal lawsuit asserts that Marketing Innovations International violated the patents for regular and miniature flashlights “by selling flashlights embodying the inventions described in patents” obtained by Mag from 1986 to 1990. In the suit, Mag seeks triple damages and to stop the other company from selling the flashlights. Mag also wants a list of firms who purchased the flashlights. (Case No. 90-5900. Filed Nov. 1, 1990).
