We agree with Jerry Hulse’s article, “New York City’s Friendliest Small Hotels” (Oct. 21), that the Wyndham is well-located and, by New York standards, reasonable, but it is not friendly. In fact, we were treated so rudely on a recent visit that we cut short our stay.
The rooms were probably once moderately well-decorated, but their charm has long faded to the dingy stage. There were no amenities. And the staff appeared to have worn their uniforms, without adequate cleaning, for many years. Let us hope that when they retire, they take their uniforms.
