SAN CLEMENTE — Marcus Jenkins intercepted two passes and ran for a touchdown to lead Dana Hills to a 37-27 victory over San Clemente in a South Coast League game Friday night at San Clemente.
Jenkins, a junior, helped the Dolphins (4-4-1, 1-3) rally from a 20-10 second-quarter deficit.
San Clemente (4-5, 0-4 in league) led early behind the passing of Ken Dolan and the running of Shane Shanafelt.
Dolan threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Chris Carroll on the first series, and Shanafelt had 42 yards in his first two carries.
Dana Hills’ John Ashley kicked a 32-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 7-3.
After an 11-yard touchdown run by Shanafelt made it 13-3, Nick Nosek ran eight yards for a touchdown, making it 13-10 in the second quarter. An interception by Jenkins set up the score.
Morgan Bannister gave San Clemente a 20-10 lead on a six-yard touchdown run, but Dana Hills responded with a six-yard touchdown run by Shaun Coleman to make it 20-17 at halftime.
Dana Hills then outscored San Clemente, 20-0, on touchdown runs by Jenkins and Nosek and two field goals by Ashley.
