In another Channel League game:
Rio Mesa 38, Oxnard 14--Junior running back Gordy Abellera of Rio Mesa rushed for 153 yards in 12 carries and scored two touchdowns at Oxnard.
Three Oxnard fumbles in the first quarter led to Spartan touchdowns.
Kenyon Lewis (112 yards in 19 carries) put Oxnard (3-6, 3-3) on the scoreboard in the second quarter with a six-yard run.
On Rio Mesa’s next offensive series, Abellera sprinted 74 yards to give the Spartans (5-4, 3-3) a 26-7 lead.
