Man in Wheelchair Killed Crossing Road

ANAHEIM — A 73-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck by a van and killed Saturday night, Anaheim police said.
The man was struck as he attempted to cross Knott Avenue in the middle of the 900 block about 9:45 p.m. The driver, Gregory Scott Eyre, 31, of Anaheim, told police that he did not see the man until he was a few feet away and that he couldn’t stop in time.
Anaheim police did not disclose the man’s identity pending notification of his relatives.
