Birmingham 27, Poly 13--Birmingham quarterback Vince Lampkin rushed for 62 yards in 14 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the host Braves (2-1). He also completed seven of 12 passes for 104 yards.
Lampkin’s longest score was a 34-yard scamper in the second quarter that gave Birmingham a 19-0 lead.
Poly (2-2) cut the led to 19-7 on quarterback Lance Garcia’s 20-yard run late in the second quarter, but the Parrots didn’t score again until Jonathan Campbell’s 35-yard bolt in the fourth quarter.
Birmingham running back Darrell Moore gained 71 yards in six carries and scored a touchdown.
