Countywide : Odes to Joy Planned for Germany Unity

Festivities to celebrate German reunification will be held today at two Orange County German restaurants.
The Phoenix Club German Assn. in Anaheim will open for a special 1 p.m. lunch and party that will include its special German dishes, beers and a showing of news films from Nov. 9, 1989, when protesters tore and chiseled at the Berlin Wall.
At Old World restaurant in Huntington Beach, free admission and free food will welcome the joining of the two countries. A German band will play throughout the evening’s festivities, which begin at 6:30.
