How refreshing!
Not one, but two book reviews (Sept. 9) that tell the reader what the book is about in the first paragraph. No need to read a column before finding a reference to the book being reviewed.
Lynn Hunt starts right out telling us that “The Quest for El Cid” “is a book about the relation between myth and history” and so forth. About “Lies of Silence,” Richard Eder begins: “It is all there, perhaps too plainly there, in the title,” etc.
Congratulations to them and to you. Lets have more of the same.
