On behalf of the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, I would like to express our appreciation for William Wilson’s sensitive and astute review (Aug. 22) of our current exhibition, “Diamonds Are Forever: Artists and Writers on Baseball.”
Unfortunately, there were two errors that I would like to correct. “Diamonds Are Forever” was curated and organized by Peter H. Gordon of the New York State Museum, Albany. The exhibition and its national tour are sponsored and very generously supported by American Express Co. This is no longer a Smithsonian traveling exhibition, as was indicated in Wilson’s review.
Finally, Wilson incorrectly attributes Michael Langenstein’s post-card collage “Play Ball” (Michelangelo’s hand of God passing a baseball to Adam) to Harvey Breverman.
