DALLAS — H. Ross Perot is still the ultimate rich Texan. He retained his ranking as the wealthiest man in the state with a fortune estimated at $3 billion, according to Texas Monthly’s list of the 100 richest Texans.
Perot was followed by Dallas financier Harold Clark Simmons, who is worth $1.7 billion, and five members of the Bass family of Ft. Worth, who own a combined $5.8 billion. The youngest person on the list is Michael Dell, 25, of Austin, the founder of Dell Computer Corp., who is worth $140 million.
