A Tujunga man was arrested Friday on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man as the victim walked out of his apartment building, police said.
Edward John Coffey, 38, is believed to have argued with the victim earlier this week, said Detective Gary Milligan.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of his family. The man was shot in the lower back outside his apartment in the 10300 block of Commerce Street at 9:20 p.m. Thursday.
Police were also searching Friday for Coffey’s stepbrother, Lorin Seth Dowdy, 24, of Tujunga. Authorities allege that Coffey and Dowdy hid at a construction site across the street from the victim’s apartment.
