Eastman Kodak Co.: The Rochester, N.Y., photographic products giant reported second-quarter net income of $384 million, a fivefold increase from the year-ago period, when earnings were $77 million after a $227-million restructuring charge. Sales rose 2% to $4.87 billion. Kodak attributed its unexpectedly strong showing to cost-control efforts and early benefits from the restructuring.
