Chuck Berry Bails Out: Rock ‘n’ roll legend Chuck Berry posted a $20,000 bond Monday at the St. Charles County Courthouse in Missouri, where he has been charged with possession of controlled substances and three counts of child abuse stemming from a June 23 raid on his estate in Wentzville, Mo., about 40 miles west of St. Louis. The singer is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 30 at the courthouse. Dick Alen, Berry’s manager, said the arraignment date would not interfere with any of Berry’s performances, including his Aug. 13 dates at the Strand in Redondo Beach.
