NASHVILLE — Wynonna Judd, the daughter and lead singer of the Judds’ mother-daughter country music duo, has announced her engagement to a songwriter.
The singer, 26, is engaged to Tony King, who is best known as the co-writer of Ricky Van Shelton’s No. 1 country hit “I’ve Cried My Last Tear for You.” King is also a guitarist and harmony singer for country singer Vince Gill.
The two have not set a wedding date, spokesman Chuck Thompson said Monday.
“They’re very, very happy . . . ecstatic, as you might imagine,” Thompson said.
Judd and her mother are known for their hit records such as “Grandpa” and “Mama He’s Crazy.”
