SHORT TAKES : Bailey, New Knee Out of Hospital

PHILADELPHIA — Walking with a cane, entertainer Pearl Bailey left Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia this morning, after undergoing surgery July 11 to replace her degenerated left knee.
Bailey will remain in Philadelphia for about a week to continue physical therapy. A hospital spokeswoman said that the singer should be able to resume daily activities in about six weeks.
