Doctors, members of the Latino community and people who have received mental health services are being sought for positions on the Ventura County Mental Health Advisory Board.
The 17-member board, which meets once a month to review activities of the county Mental Health Services Department, has five openings.
State law calls for board members to include present and past recipients of mental health care, relatives of present and former patients, physicians, psychologists, nurses and social workers, said Dr. Richard Reinhart, the agency’s chief psychologist and coordinator of community relations.
The board must also be balanced by age, sex, geographic area and ethnic background, Reinhart said.
For applications for the one-year, unpaid positions, call 652-6747.
