SHORT TAKES : ‘Lagoon’ Goes With Real Pros
- Share via
After searching for “unknowns” to play the leads in the sequel to the 1980 film “Blue Lagoon,” the producers have assigned the roles to professionals.
The plot of the new film will have the child of the original couple (played by Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins) marooned along with a little girl and her mother. Like the couple in the first film, the boy and girl will grow up and struggle with “the confusion of adolescence and their dawning sexual feelings.”
Cast as the girl is Milla Jovovich, a Russian-born model who has done both television and films. Cast as the boy is Brian Krause, who has also done TV and films. William A. Graham is directing the film. Production has already begun in Fiji.
