PERLOFF PRO AND CON

Thanks to poet Thomas Disch for illuminating the rarefied airs of the postmodernists (Disch’s review of “Poetic License” by Marjorie Perloff, May 27).

Poetic and prosodic piffle need to be pinpointed. When tuition fees are so far out of sight, he who exposes academic charlatans is performing an important service.
