Lloyd Wood was sworn into office this week as the chief of police in Pomona, giving the department its first permanent leader in nine months. Wood was hired in June to fill the vacancy created when former Chief Richard Tefank was fired by the City Council last October.
Wood, 50, was police chief in Azusa for nine years. He has said that one of his priorities as Pomona’s chief will be to boost morale. He plans to meet with officers to hear concerns and complaints.
